Catching Up
Bismillah
Today is not a long article. I have been contemplating where I want to be in my life this time next year and what I want to change. I use Ramadan as a way to reset and it is quickly approaching alhamdulillah.
Ramadan is less than 80 days away. Subhanallah. Less than 80.
I use this time to consider habits I have that I want to change and goals that I want to achieve. Normally I start working on them a little before Ramadan so that I carry them into Ramadan. Similar to how the companions would prepare for Ramadan before ramadan.
I don’t clean my house as so many people talk about. It occurred to me that preparing for Ramadan is not about a clean house but preparing your heart. Preparing your mind. Spiritual and emotional cleansing. So that you can enter Ramadan peacefully and Allah knows best.
That is not to say a person should or should not clean their house. I am saying your spiritual condition is where the importance needs to be placed. So often we focus on the outward appearance of things and we neglect the most important. The inward.
Like in homeschooling, parents often ask about curriculum. Your child’s moral and spiritual development far outweigh their academic achievement.
Same for preparing for Ramadan. Your home is an indication of your internal world. Also, your internal world determines how you see your external world. If you don’t like what it says about you, you need to fix it. Only you can do that.
Allah only changes your condition when you first change your condition. This is for the good and the bad.
So in these next few weeks before Ramadan what would you like to change? One thing. Not your entire life, but one thing. May Allah make it easy for you. Ameen.
Praying for your success in this life and the next………………….Mina💖
