Arabic Learning Resources to Make it Easier for You to Teach Your Child
Bismillah
I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for resources to teach my children Arabic. Mostly how to read the Arabic language so that they can read the Quran well alhamdulillah.
While my daughter has a teacher, my sons are studying under me. Alahmdulillah I have a teacher as well so that helps. I have always struggled with teaching using the Qaidah Nooraniyyah that so many people use.
For me the book does not give enough practice with the various lessons and I have found repeating the same lesson page can get boring for both my child and myself. I also struggled with understanding the tajweed rules in the books when they were all in Arabic. Now alhamdulillah there are books with the rules in English and that is really helpful.
Recently I came across 2 series on YouTube. We have been using these alhamdulillah and I have noticed more progress faster with my two boys. Today I want to share them both with you.
One is from Arabic 101 which is a channel I like a lot for myself as well. They have a lot of videos on reading Quran and tajweed. He is clear when he says letter sounds and I like the graphics as well.
His video course is called Learn How to Read Arabic. This series is 4 lessons of about 15 mins each alhamdulillah. He gives the letters in all their forms and makes words with the letters starting in the first video. If you or your child is struggling with learning the Arabic alphabet this is a good place to start.
This second series is through Masjid As Sahaba in the UK. They have a few different Arabic learning resources on their channel but this one I found is pretty good for children. I know those of you who have a young child you want to teach Arabic to are looking for resources. This series helps with that. The book for the series in in the description. You can download it for free. The series is called Read and Write Arabic Level 1. This is a continuation of a series set up for preschool age children.
Masjid As Sahabah’s preschool series is called Read & write Arabic (Preschool) || 1 and I believe this is the entire playlist. It is 30 lessons and each lesson looks to be roughly 5 mins. The book for this series is free book. It is in the description for you to download. Using the book your child can follow along inshaa Allah.
Alhamdulillah that is all I have for today.
Let me know how you use the videos and workbooks in the comments below.
Praying for your success in this life and the next………………..Mina💖
